Admission requires a Bachelor's degree in vehicle engineering or a related field.

The degree program aims to train engineers for the automotive industry who can apply and introduce new materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering technologies in an environmentally conscious and energy-efficient manner. They will also be trained to handle leadership, control, and organizational responsibilities as well as tasks related to engineering development, research, design, and innovation with an emphasis on electric and hybrid vehicles, whilst gaining theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of automotive engineering. Due to the dual study type, they will own significant and potential practical skills at the end of their studies.

Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

Yes, students must complete a 4-week field practice by working at a company or firm over the course of the internship period (in summer).

 

What are the career prospects after graduating?

Graduates can choose from a wide range of positions in the fields of automotive engineering, transport safety, vehicle maintenance and repair, and production line optimization.

What are the language requirements for Vehicle Engineering, MSc?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least Upper-Intermediate / B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 547 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.0.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

Until when can I apply for the program?

Please note that the MSc in Vehicle Engineering operates on a double-intake academic calendar. This program starts both in September and February of each year. The application deadline in the self-financed procedure is 15th June for the September intake, and 15th November for the February intake.

How much does it cost to study Vehicle Engineering, MSc at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 8,000 USD / year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
