Admission requires a relevant Bachelor's degree.

 
This is a 2-year program consisting of 4 academic semesters.

What to expect during the program?

The Water Management, MSc course develops knowledge and understanding in physical, chemical, and ecological aspects of water science in temperate, tropical, and semi-arid zones. It provides a foundation in basic processes in each key subject area, as well as in interactions throughout the hydrological cycle, the various hydrological processes and functions, and the impact these have on health.

Yes, students should complete a 6-week field practice.

What are the language requirements for Hydrobiology – Water Quality Management, MSc?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least Upper-Intermediate / B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 547 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.0.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

Please note that the MSc in Hydrobiology – Water Quality Management operates on a single-intake academic calendar. This program starts in September of each year. The application deadline in the self-financed procedure is 15th June for the September intake.

How much does it cost to study Hydrobiology – Water Quality Management, MSc at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 7,500 USD / year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
