All courses are taught in English; therefore, an Upper-B2 level English proficiency is required.
 

Admission requires a Bachelor's diploma in Physics.

 
This is a 2-year program consisting of 4 academic semesters.
 
Students earn 120 ECTS in total.
 
The tuition fee for this program is 7,500 USD/Year.

What to expect during the program?

The objective of the programme is to train physicists who are able to recognize physical principles in natural phenomena, to perform their experimental investigation according to scientific standards, and to obtain a thorough theoretical understanding. The training enables graduates to develop and operate industrial, IT, and measuring systems related to physical laws and high technology processes. Students also gain the aptitude for continuing their studies in the framework of doctoral programs.

Yes, students can complete practice at a company or research institute.

What are the language requirements for Physics, MSc?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least Upper-Intermediate / B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 547 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.0.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

 

Is there an entrance exam for Physics, MSc?

Students applying to our graduate programs will participate in an interview where we assess their motivation, personal skills, and English proficiency.

Until when can I apply for the program?

Please note that the MSc in Physics operates on a single-intake academic calendar. This program starts in September of each year. The application deadline in the self-financed procedure is 15th June for the September intake.

How much does it cost to study Physics, MSc at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 7,500 USD / year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
