At the University of Debrecen, the Earth Scientis, BSc program trains students to analyze global and regional natural and anthropogenic processes through a curriculum grounded in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and informatics. Students acquire theoretical and practical expertise in applied fields such as raw material exploration, water supply protection, seismology, and renewable energy resources

Is there an internship incorporated into the program?

Yes, Students must complete a 2-6-week practice at an external company, institution, university or research laboratory.

How can I enroll in the program?

The admission process is conducted entirely online, featuring written and oral entrance exams designed to evaluate subject-specific knowledge and personal motivation. We also offer a variety of academic merit-based scholarships for our students.

 

What are the language requirements for Earth Sciences, BSc?

Applicants must have an English proficiency of at least B2 level as the program is fully taught in English. For your information, this is equivalent to:

  • a TOEFL test with a minimum score of 513 (Paper-Based).
  • an IELTS test with a minimum score of 5.5.

Please note, that you are not strictly required to have a language exam certificate, your language skills will be assessed during the entrance interview.

 

Is there an entrance exam for Earth Sciences, BSc?

Yes, admission is based on a high school certificate and online written and oral entrance exams in Geography and Mathematics.

Until when can I apply for the program?

Please note that the BSc in Earth Sciences operates on a single-intake academic calendar. This program only starts in September of each year. The application deadline in the self-financed procedure is 15th June.

How much does it cost to study Earth Sciences, BSc at the University of Debrecen?

The tuition fee is 6,500 USD / year for this program.

This is supplemented by the application fee of $150 USD (one-time) and the entrance procedure fee of $350 USD that covers the examination and interview. Please note that the application and entrance procedure fees are non-refundable and must be paid via bank transfer to initiate the review process.
